Building off a summer of music—with Artist-in-residence John and Continuing Education Presenter Paul—Join John Hermanson and Maren Haynes Marchesini for a joyful weekend of singing songs of faith and songs of Christikon.
Singers of all kinds are welcome! The weekend will be devoted to the gift and power of singing together—whether hymns, beloved camp songs, or favorite Storyhill and John Hermanson originals. Together we will delight in bringing music to life in the beautiful mountain setting of Christikon.
Morning and evening prayer, shaped by John’s original music, will gently frame each day, along with shared meals and time in community.
Ages 12 and older are welcome.
$210 per person | $50 deposit due at registration

Contemplative Retreat 1
July 5-8 | Sunday dinner to Wednesday Breakfast/worship
Join John Hermanson and Maren Haynes Marchesini for a restful contemplative retreat.
Participants will experience a monastic rhythm of morning and evening prayer based around John’s original music, engage with contemplative practices for opening the mind and body to creativity, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and community of Christikon, including worship and mealtime.
Participants will also have spacious, open work time for creative projects, as well as options to share work-in-progress with one another.
$325 per adult | $50 deposit due at registration
Contemplative Retreat 2
September 18-24 | Any length of days between Friday dinner through Thursday breakfast
Join John Hermanson and Maren Haynes Marchesini for a restful contemplative retreat designed especially for artists and creative seekers.
The rhythm of the retreat is intentionally spacious, offering abundant open time to rest, create, and listen deeply—to one’s work, to one another, and to God. Morning and evening prayer, shaped by John’s original music, will gently frame each day, along with shared meals.
Participants are invited—but never required—to share works-in-progress within a supportive community for reflection, conversation, and encouragement. Christikon’s mountain setting provides a grounding and hospitable container in which creative work can unfold at its own pace.
Registration for this session is unique! You may want to come for partial or all of the week, and we are very happy to accommodate that in this unique case!

Musical Backpacking Adventure
August 12-18 | Wednesday dinner to Tuesday Breakfast/worship
Join John Hermanson for music and reflection on a backpack adventure! You will spend your first and last nights at camp, with 5 days/4 nights out on trail.
Along with John, two Christikon backpacking guides will lead your adventure as you share worship, meals, and quiet time in the backcountry.
Christikon provides backpacks, tents, cooking gear, and food. You will need to supply your own sleeping bag, hiking boots, rain gear, and clothing. Minimum group size is 6 guests; maximum group size is 13 guests.
